In Response To: Where is documentation on the S-Link protocol? (Dan Butterfield)

By "Slinke documentation", I assume you mean documentation on how to build commands for specific S-Link devices. The _Slink-e_ protocols are very well documented here on this site, and the Slink-e handles the actual protocol down the wires. That leaves the format of the commands themselves...

These commands vary from device to device, with specific prefixes and/or suffixes so that the device can recognize that the command is directed toward it... The .cde files are the best source of info I've found, but one has to read between the lines at times. They still aren't completely sufficient...

The only devices that I currently want detailed info on are the Sony 100/200 CD changers. I suspect that the majority of Slink-e owners probably have one of these changers, driven either by CDJ or some home-brew software. I have had some minor problems using the commands documented in cdpcx200sls.cde and I suspect that there may be more commands lurking in there. See my posting on "Secrets of the CDX Changers" for some of the issues I've seen...
