cddb lookup

When I try to do a cddb "lookup of a selected disc" I have the disc highlighted in order to make it "selected" but I cannot tell whether the lookup is working and not getting a result or just not working period. When I go to the cddb website and do a manual query of the same disc I find it there??? I also do not fully understand the CDJ/cddb window that has the IP adress field and a locate servers button. I do have the "use internet server" button checked. Does a single disc have to be in the "queued" mode for the "lookup selected disc" to function? Thanks in advance for your help.
