What about allowing JPG's to be dropped onto the image window, and doing the conversion there before storing them? I've never bothered to load the images because i'm to lazy to convert 'em myself...

The borrower could be an external program or an activex control; I'd be happy to write one. If you could pass band name, cd name, and directory/file to store the result in, it'd be no problem. Looking at cdnow, it looks like they store their images in both gif and jpeg forms, but that shouldn't be too hard to deal with.
