feature that my wife wants

There have been several suggestions around groups and creating views of
the library. Here is another take on it.

A UI to "borrow" from is Sierra's MasterCook.

In MasterCook recipes can be members of categories. A set comes with
the program but the user can create their own. When assigning a recipe
to a category you get a screen with all the categories and checkboxes.

I noticed that keyword feature is pretty close to this. I see that
CDJ maps the CDDB category as keyword. All we need is better UI instead
of the free form text field. CDJ gets it right in that a CD can have more
than one keyword.

I also see that the shuffle ratings can use the keywords pretty well already.

BTW is there a definitive description on how shuffle mode works.
My testing of shows really good promise. It appears that it will
choose songs that are most "like" the ratings that you give but
it will choose songs that are not a match on occasion.

It would be nice to have a mode where it choose entire discs instead of
tracks. This is would be useful right now since we only have one 200
disc changer. When it is choosing by track, there is a long dead time while
the changer switches from CD to CD. This will become less of a problem
when we get the 2nd 200 disc changer and split the the collection.

Hmm, perhaps I should give a high level of what we are trying to do. Perhaps we have been approaching this all wrong.

We want to be able to say. Play me lullabies or play me childrens songs or play me classical music. Right now I build playlists. The problem with playlists is that if add a new CD I have to edit a variety of playlists if it belongs in several groups.
