Ok, the most recent time it happened I poked around even more.

CDJ reports that there are no slink-e (thus no devices).

Bringing up the s-link viewer shows traffic! The LED blinks
appropriately so the slink-e is somewhat alive

Having CDJ probe for slink-e doesn't turn up anything.

My guess is that serial receive on the slink-e has gone
out to lunch.

Power cycling the slink-e makes it happy again

It generally takes many hours of continous shuffle play for this
to happen (on order of 8-12 hours). I'm running the latest
CDJ.
