A step that I think would be easier in the interim and would have some long term benefits is to have CDJ queue a 'query-track' foreach track whenever the player sends the message to says it's loaded up a disc, whether the changer is currently playing under cdj control or not.

This would catch the case where you have manually put a disc in the player and let it spin it up but haven't told CDJ to scan the player...

This happens for me often enough when someone brings over a new CD and drops it in.

To at least drop the place holder in the CD library without doing a remote CDDB query is useful because you have something to go do the CDDB lookup on later.

Other than the time on the slink bus to send the messages and receive the responses, it seems very benign to do this. (I did this in my old java software that talked to the sony visiontouch box).
