In Response To: 50 usec sampling -- why not? (Dave Thomas)

50 usec sampling will do adversely affect the other I/O. such as S-Link. If the other I/O is very active, it is possible for the Slink-e to not sample at exactly the 50usec interval (the mean will be 50usec, but some samples may be a bit longer, followed by a corrective shorter sample). Part of the problem with echoing isn't due to sampling error at all, but the fact that the IR receiver modules tend to distort the signal a bit (particularly if the received carrier is greatly different than 38kHz) and the Slink-e merely echoes this distorted signal.
