wireless, again?

some time ago, someone was trying to make the pc-slinke interface wireless ie wireless rs-232.
has anyone succeeded in this? i'd really like to have a serial port RF adaptor that would talk with an RF serial port/slinke adaptor so i could control slinke from throughout the house.
thoughts and ideas appreciated,
