Tivo/IR Codes/ Philips Digital Broadband Cable Box

This is totally off the subject for this BBS, but I wonder if someone might point me to the right url (or have the answer.)

I'm trying to help a friend of mine set up a Tivo to use with a Philips Broad Band Cable Box in Jacksonville Fl (AT&T Broadband). The Tivo (Philips 20 Hr)will not change the channels on the cable box.

I called Tivo and they said they don't have, nor can they capture the IR signals for this box (because they use a Philips Pronto and it won't capture Philips Codes)

Does that sound right?

Does anyone know where the codes might me published?

Can I use my Nirvis box to capture information that would be helpful to Tivo?
