In Response To: Re: Accessing COM Port on Remote Computer? (Mark Myers)

I am having trouble getting DCOM to work. The Access Permissions stay disabled, "grayed-out", on the host 98 Machine. I have tried logging in as administrator, but get same results. When I run CDJ on the remote machine, Win2000 it cannot find my slinke.

Is it possible to run CDJ on two machines? Or can I only run Party GUI on the remote. Can different mp3s be running on both CDJ applications. I have the the file locations pointing to the host machine's directories. It loads the database on the remote computer but will not let me play them. This probably relates to it not finding the slinke.

Does VPN give more functionality. Ultimate goal is to modify Party GUI for my Ipaq, but I can't even get it to run on the networked PC.
