In Response To: Telephone-wire serial cable (Jason Duran)

Radio Shack makes a couple of configurable serial to RJ-11 (normal telephone 6 conductor jack, or 8 conductor LAN style jack) adapters. One side of the adapter is a 25 pin female D-shell connector (for a normal 25 pin serial port), and the other side is either the 6 or 8 conductor phone jack. The adapter shell is hollow, and patch wires are provided to allow you to connect any of the serial port pins to any of the phone jack conductors.

I use two of these to connect my Slink-e to my computer via a 75 foot cat-5 cable in our crawl space.
