In Response To: IR Toggles (Mike Miller)

Sony does give use three codes for Power control in most of their units. The toggle code for power is 21. This is the function or keycode. Sony commands are broken up into a device idntifier and a key or function idntifier. The Power ON command is 46, and the power off command is 47. Depending on just whose system you use for IR conversion, the code number is represented differently. The slink code files for Sony show the power code to be 1010100, the power on code to be 0101110, and power off to be 0101111. These are equal to then nunbers I have quoted, if the left most digit in the sony cde file is the least significant bit of a 7 bit binary number. That is 21=0010101 base 2; 46= 0101110 base 2, and 47 = 0101111 base 2. The slink cde files sjow these values with the LSB left most. (transmission order). One of the newer pioneer laser disk polayer also has unique codes for power on and power off, so they may be following suite. The high end Dennon preamp AVP8000 does not. The remotes generally only handle the power toggle command.
