I think only the 90ES and the 270 store track memo information. I have a 260, which comes with an LCD remote (RM-DX260). I think this remote is the same one that comes with the DA50ES receiver. The 260, like the 240, only stores Disc memo data. However, both support the CD-Text format. For CD-Text audio CDs, the 260, when stopped, will display Disc Title, Artist and "Disc# #-of-Tracks Total-Time" in order by selecting the "Time/Text" function on either the player or remote. When in play mode, selecting the "Time/Text" function will alternately display the track name and "Disc# Track# Elapsed-Time".

For the CD-Text audio CDs, the Disc Title can be downloaded to the remote by taking the following steps on the remote:

Select MENU button
Scroll down to "Set Up"
Select "PUSH ENTER" button (also used to scroll up or down)
Scroll down to "Memo Loading"
Select "PUSH ENTER" button
Select "PUSH ENTER" button (cursor is on "All memo data")

(Note: the above procedure downloads all 200 disc titles, in about 10 seconds)

The track titles of the CD-Text audio CD can be downloaded to the remote by taking the following steps:

Select the Disc number to queue the CD-Text audio CD for playing.
With that disc number selected on the remote, select the TRACK button.
Hold the remote in front of the IR window while the track titles download.

It appears that the remote stores the track information only for the disc that is currently queued or playing. When a different disc is queued on the player, the track information that was downloaded for the previously queued disc is not retained in the remote.

In addition to the LCD remote, the 260 comes with a remote IR rcvr/xmtr that is connected to the player by a power cable (6 VDC supplied from the player) and an s-link cable. I assume this wired remote is to allow the player to be placed out of view.

If you have an interest in making your own CD-Text audo CDs by burning CD-R discs, see the message I posted in the "Sony news from COMDEX" message thread.
