In Response To: Toslink transmitters. (Jim Varrone)

I too could not find the Toslink modules anywhere. I searched the internet and called around to quite a few electronics shops. Here's where I finally found them, I ordered them from a fellow by the name of Linus Sweers.
He has a web page for ordering them at: http://www.rit.edu/~lps0330/toslink/
His price on them is $10 each including shipping. I got them in about 7 days and that was the week before Christmas. He is very quick to ship.

Note that these are not the Toshiba models, but the Sharp models which is what SONY uses in their changers. I did the surgery last week and added one to my CDPCX200 and it took about 30 minutes. The Sony circuit boards are pre-drilled for the mountings and the leads and it just snaps into place. The Toshiba modules could work but the mountings are not the same. I took a couple of photos and will scan them in after developing if anyone wants to see what is done.

I went out and picked up the Eagles, When Hell Freezes Over, DTS CD. The player now delivers the DTS signal! WOW.
