Paralell port on slinke2

I have a motion sensor with an open collector output I would like to hook up. I have tried a 10k and a 2k pull up resistor with no sucess.

I tried _200_ ohms with no sucess. I have made sure its configured as an input. connecting it directly to 5v reads as a 1, but obviously this is no use if I need to have it pulled down.

Will I need to place some form of buffer there?
