Have you verified that the Control S output, is in fact the IR codes over
wire? Are they baseband, or modulated 40 Khz?

I'm planning to monitor the control S outputs of my Sony DSS 1, VCR mouse output of my Sony DSS 2, the control S output of my Sony TV, and (optimistically) the XS8 output of my Kenwood receiver. I'm hoping I can see any IR command received by the units or keys punched on their panels on the control-s or vcr mouse outputs. I'm trying to keep track of the state of all my equipment so my software can configure the equipment appropriately for the various modes of operation.
