Visual C++ Compile Error

I have been trying to do some coding for the Slinke in Visual C++ 5.0, but am having trouble getting anything I write to compile. A few months back my office purchased a slinke and I did some programming for it. The programming functioned fine on my workstation at the office. However, when I purchased my own Slinke and tried to write something up at home, I'd get the following compilation errors:

e:\Program Files\DevStudio\VC\INCLUDE\xutility(46) : error C2678: binary '<' : no operator defined which takes a left-hand operand of type 'const class CSlinkeUser' (or there is no acceptable conversion)

I'm confused by this, because the xutility file was installed with Visual C++. I've tried compiling code on both my Windows 98 and Windows NT 4.0 machines, getting the same results on both. Has anyone else had something similar happen? Does anyone know a fix for it? Am I making a mistake somewhere?
