In Response To: CD260 remote question (Phill Stanton)

Phill,

I just checked it out. I have a 90ES and a 260 normally configured with the 90ES as the master and the 260 as the slave. When I changed the 260 to master (CD2) and the 90ES to slave (CD3), I couldn't get CDJ to transfer the disk titles of the 90ES into the 260. However, since my CDJ library was set up with the 90ES as player 1 and the 260 as player 2, using the CDJ text transfer would transfer the disc titles for the 260 into the 90ES, but they overwrote the player 1 titles (the 90ES disc titles were overwritten with the 260 titles!). Are you confused yet?

I did notice that if I actually played a disc in either player, the disc would be renamed (in the CDJ playlist) to the correct disc right after loading. I guess this is the same thing that happens if you move a disc to a different slot location. From CDJ's perspective, changing which player was the master, was equivalent to doing a slot by slot disc swap between the two players.

I eventually got the 90ES disc titles into the 260 by performing the manual procedure on page 27 (Loading Disc Memos of the second CD player) of the 260 User's Manual (be forewarned that when you do this, there are no visual cues that the cross load was accomplished). After loading the 90ES disc titles to the 260, I was able to upload the 90ES titles to the remote. Make sure you first execute the "Menu/Set up/Player Check" command from the remote. You can then execute either the "Menu/Set up/Memo loading/2nd player" command or the "Menu/Setup /Memo loading/All memo data" command from the remote.

Regards,
Dave
