There are a bunch of postings at www.remotecentral.com about using the new Microsoft-developed remote with the DA90ESG receiver. The gist of these postings is that it doesn't work. The remote is the $350 Take Control TC1000, marketed by Harman/Kardon and also sold by Madrigal as the IRIQ. Breathless reviews are showing up now in computer and hi fi mags. If the thing doesn't work with the DA90ESG, that presumably means it won't work with the STR-DE1015G, the DA90's down-market cousin. I would guess it won't work with any Sony Vision Touch receiver, as all of them seem to use this weird very-high-frequency carrier for remote commands. As noted earlier on this board, Xantech receivers, emitters and connecting blocks for IR repeater systems **do** seem to pick up and transmit the Vision Touch frequencies from Sony's own remotes, but no after-market equipment, including the Niles Intellipad, will actually GENERATE these frequencies. At least not in a way that makes the receivers happy.

I have heard that Sony's own RM-AV2000 won't work with Sony Vision Touch receivers. Really, the people who develop this stuff should just be taken out and shot.

Will it do the Sony DA90ESG receiver?
