The problem is that the SlinkX interface isn't particularly fast or designed to move a lot of data. For you to read out the library this way would be very tedious. An additional advantage of reading the DB directly is you can choose which fields you are interested in, so you are not getting the lyrics to each track you request unless you want them. Backward / forward compatibity is also a lot better as additional fields get added to the DB.
