STR-DA90ESG does not send anything back to the remote. What it has are

1) An operational IR-Receiver (front right)
2) A learning IR-receiver (front left)
3) A IR xmitter, which is only used ot flood xmit the closet to
control the regular stuff. (front bottom).

I could not find a single remote that would learn the Sony Remote.

What i gathered is that it sends it's own precoded commands to the
receiver , which translates them to the code it has "learned" from the
"learning IR-receiver" and blasts them from the xmitter (or s-link).

I also "intuited" that the frequency the remote xmits is not 40 KHz but
something like 70 KHz ( or 120 KHz). I don't remember where I heard this.

Anyway, 50ES does send stuff back to the remote, but 90ES ( which is about
a year older) does not.
