I forgot to give some additional information.

I have CDJ set to do a cross fade 6 seconds down, 6 overlap, 3 up.

The problem appears to happen most often (maybe exclusively) when
CDJ is about to switch from one CD to another. During the day
the playlist contains whole CDs,that's when it seems to happen
the most often (1-2 times/day according to my wife). I can't
recall it ever happening late at night when we are playing lullabys
for our daughter. The lullaby playlists contains individual tracks.
