Great, you just answered one of my questions. I was wondering if CDJ would trash extra fields if I added them to the .mdb file.

CDJ contains most of the information I'm interested in tracking, that is, except Release Date (or Year to be more precise). I like having the ability to customize printed reports (summaries) of my CD's cataloged by CDJ. One sorting that I like to use, though, arranges them by Artist then by release year. I couldn't do this from the data CDJ collects from CDDB. Guess I'll have to add it myself now that I can see that it won't be trashed.

Of course, if I could see this within CDJ someday, that'd be even better. But I can wait.
