No more CDJ crashes, but no more X-10

For whatever it's worth, since upgrading to a faster system for my CDJ machine (a 300Mhz Cyrix M-II from a 486-66), I no longer get any crashes even after running for extended periods (72+ hours). I also increased my RAM by quite a bit. One of these may account for what was previously causing the crashes. Incidentally, I am still running Win98, so it must not be the culprit.

An unfortunate side effect seems to be complete loss of X-10 support in the Slink-x beta. When starting CDJ with the Slink-e data window open, commands will flow properly until an X-10 command occurs on the powerline. At that point, everything in the Slink-e data window freezes, and no further CD functions can be performed. Running with X-10 disabled works fine. The X-10 Activehome software works fine on this machine, indicating the CM11a is hooked up properly and functioning.

This is too bad, because the slower machine was able to do X-10 reliably (although it would eventually crash CDJ). I guess you can't have it all!
