New Slink-e / CDJ user needs help!

I just received my Slink-e, and I'm pretty excited about getting it set up. It didn't come with any printed instructions, but I looked in the help on-line and in the help files downloaded with CDJ. OK so far.

As there weren't any installation diagrams, I gleaned the following from the text instructions:
I've got the mono cable connected from the Slink remote jack on the back of my CDP-CX210 into the Control-S port of the Slink-e.
The RS232 is connected from the Slink-e to my 166 MH Win95 computer.
The supplied phone cord is connected from the modular jack of the Slink-e on one end and into the IR sender on the other.
The power supply is plugged into the Slink-e and it's working.

The SlinkeServ program finds the Slink-e on Com3.
The SlinkeServ tests Pass on the following:
the S-link loop test(1)
the IR Port Loop test(2)
the Baud Rate test(3),
which are all I think are applicable. Still OK so far.

Then I go into CDJ and want to communicate with my CD player and:
I can't really find any help files on how to start the process. Nothing happens when I try to invoke the 'search for disks' process (not really - some message shows up so fast I can't see it).

For so much technical info, there's really very little on how to use the basic functions of CDJ...

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
