Do you know if those MP3 files, that are problematic, were recorded with variable bit rates? I know WINAMP had the time problem initially and it was fixed fairly quickly, but other applications still have trouble dealing with VBR recorded files. I don't know how time is calculated but it seems it is probably file size divided by bit rate. AudioCatalyst does record in VBR (at least in newer version, I don't know if this is by default or not). I would test this theory, but am on the road.
