DB-25-to-modular expansion port adapter

I just got my Slink-e and assorted accessories. I am planning to use the i/o ports on the parallel port. Can I just put a sort of pass-through connector in-between the Slink-e and port adaptor so that I can break out the lines I need? Will that cause any problem with the adaptor?
