In Response To: story about slink-e (Julie Jacobson)

Julie, I just received my slink-e for evaluation in my custom installation business. After a couple of false starts and an hour or so of monkeying around it is up and working wonderfully. My interest in the product came after seeing the escient pieces at CEDIA a couple of weeks ago. The slink e is much more comprehensive and frankly easier to use. I had the escient pice here for a couple of days to try out. I have seen that Colby and others think that because the system (slinke) is so text based that it doesn't lend itself to the interface with televisions. I have had just the opposite reaction. I have modulated the system successfully in the shop. And with resizing of fonts it works great. Even downloaded some album covers and they are good enough as well. (as good as the escient piece.

With the escient piece priced at $3000 to my customer and the slinke system at $200 it leaves a few bucks to buy a cheap PC to drive the system and still save $1500 or so. My feelings are 2 thumbs up.

Jack feel free to call at 217-793-8888.
