In Response To: Re: Missing Discs (Colby Boles)

Actually, I had this same problem and wrote a simple program to help me keep track. The program determines which slots do not have disks in them (acording to CDJ's database), and then queries the player to see if there is any text associated with that location. The program then provides a list of empty slots with the associated text, organized by player. Unfortunately, it is part of a larger program that I was using as a test bed for various CD-related ideas, and is pretty much geared to my setup. If you are interested, Colby, I could send you the VB6 files. Perhaps you could incorporate this into CDJ, with an associated button, and place the results in a pop-up window (or write the info to a file). You could even link the results to the Memo info kept in the database, and provide Artist and Title information, rather than just the CDText, as I've done.

If anyone else would like a copy of this program, keeping in mind that it's in VB (not compiled), and would need to have the database and CD player information adjusted to fit your particular setup, please let me know. If there's anyone without VB (or programming experience) who wants the program, I might be willing to revise and compile the program for you (at least for the first 5 or so people who contact me). If there's enough demand (and Colby decides not to incorporate), I might be inclined to make the modifications myself.
