IR and Actions

I have perused the CDJ / Slinke help, and have not seen any mention of using it (with an IR remote) to control other programs on the PC. Is this possible? I assume it would be fairly easy to create a program to link to the server to accomplish this, has anyone done this?

It would be great, save buying another device.
