"cut" from slink window

I have just figured out how to make my own TX/RX devicefiles.But I have not been able to "cut" the codes from the slink window and then paste them in the file.Is this not possible or am I missing something?This is very time consuming,how is it going with the super EZ-learn Colby? Also,discrete codes.I have seen in the archives at www.remotecentral.com that there are a lot of discrete codes for on/off,input etc.Does any one know how to make them useable in the slink-e world?I am in desperate need of on/off codes for my yamaha amp,jvc vcr and pioneer DVD/LD units. Any inputs would be really appreciated.
