My CDP-350 does not send IR-signals to the remote as long as the Slink-e is connected to my player with the Control-AII link cable. I have not yet tried what happens if I connect an IR-senderbox on the Slink-e. Maybe the signals travel via Control AII link trough the Slink-e to my remote.
