Sony DVPC-X850D - Jury what is the verdict ?

Any conclusions on the Sony DVPC-X850D - what is and what isn't possible.

E.g. selecting the right movies (CD Position) through S-Link, or IR over Slink, creating an unique DVD-ID (Tracks, length etc), other options ?

I would like to know where "we" stand before purchasing...
