Colby, what do you make of this?

Hey, Colby. I'm trying to do some low level stuff w/ the Slink-e, and I get the following back (At this point, NO command/signal has been sent to the Slink-e and all components are off, and the unit is dead to IR (gaffers tape over the eye, and no other receivers connected)):

Any idea as to what this is? I went through the docs but couldn't find anything about the first byte being a 00000010. (Also, I notice that the led on my Slinke still blinks at 5 second intervals, even with the components turned off and the IR dead [as mentioned above]. Any idea what THAT'S about?)
