Sony 300 disc changers

How is addressing for the cd players with a 300 disc capacity handled? I'm confused since the control-a protocol only has 8 bits of data assigned to the disc ID. Are the top one hundred disc addressed as another player (this would explain device IDs 4-6)?

Also, the help files that I have are missing the run-length coding section. I suspect this is a simple glitch and the info is available somewhere...
