In Response To: IR controlled speaker selector switch? (Ian)

look at Xantech. thy have a line of Pricey IR controlled relays.

Do not be misled. It does not have to say speaker selector. Any DPDT (form C) relay wich will carry 15-20 amps at 110 Volts is more than adequate. I built a little speaker switcher using an X10 appliance module, A 12v DC wall wart power supply (the voltage just has to mnatch the relay coil requirements), and two 12v DC relays with contacts rated at 15A 115 volts ac. All readily available from Radio Shack. I drive the X10 appliance module through a CM11A. The CM11A can be controlled by the Slinke. If you want real IR control the same arrangement with a IR 543 from smarthome or worthington will allow you to control the X10 module with IR.
