Suspend/resume

I^m using my laptop currently to connect to my slinke, but have noticed that in some occasions using the suspend/resume funtion on the laptop (which I use nearly all the time due to the significantly reduced startup (& stop) time to get into win98) that slinkE is not recognised on teh COM port...
Is this an SLINKE issue or (as I suspect!) a laptop side issue?
