I was thinking of doing something similar. Problem is the CDJ is a little quick off the draw with playing the next track so I sometimes get a bit of the front end cut off (I'm switching sources on the receiver). On top of that, there is a slight delay as the DSP changes. What I'd really like is the following:

playlist_readytoplay[track/disc info as in "playing[]"]

This would allow me to go to the DB, get the DSP, and switch the source and then the DSP (remembered by source).

Perhaps what would be better is a way to put CDJ into "don't start playing till I tell you" mode. CDJ could just pause at the beginnig of the track, a custom app could do its thing, and then tell CDJ to play.

Probably lots of ways to to do the same thing. This is how I happen to see it.
