How to IR control Sony STR-D715

I guess I've probably asked this before, but how do I get the IR control to work with my reciever? I have a Sony STR-D715. I want to be able to send IR signals to it so I can switch to my 3rd player when I get it. I am putting off purchase of a 3rd player until I figure this out. While I am quite computer literate, I am not a programer. Any help would be appreciated.
