Barry- I use something called the icon corral (shareware, but fully functional w/o splash screens, etc). I think I got it from zd/net, or download.com, or some such. You can choose which programs it will corral, and whether they only show up in the sys tray or move from the task bar (when not minimized) to the sys tray (when minimized). Double-clicking on the systray icon restores the program. Works great for me, and freees up space on the task bar. If you can't find it, I'll try to dig up the installation file I downloaded.
