Well, actually, my little app uses the DDE interface of the HomeVision PC software. It doesn't talk directly to the serial port. I'm not familiar with Stargate and don't know if its software has this same DDE interface or what its protocol is like. I could send you the code anyway, if you want to try and make it work. I know that Dan Hoehnen has an ActiveX control to communicate with an I/O port from within VB. I've never used it, but it doesn't look to complicated.
