Simple Question on 2nd Player

When I add a second Sony Player (probably CDP-CX400). Do I hook it up as a master player and hook up my first player as a slave? Will this only use one input on my receiver or does having both players hooked up to Slink-e require me to use a second input on my receiver? I really want to use the crossfade feature to get rid of the delay between songs on my playlist!
