Random/Shuffle

Since connecting my slink-e, I've mainly still been using the cd player's remote to start things off. One thing I noticed last night, is when I press 'shuffle' on the player, it works as I would expect. Randonly selects disks/tracks until you stop it.
However, cdj, just seems to select about 10 tracks to play and then repeats them.
Am I doing something wrong or doesn't cdj provide the complete 'random' funciton?
