Slink-e and Xantech

Has anyone had any success with building the Xantech interface circuits detailed on the web site, in particular interfacing them directly to the 25pin D Type on the Slink-e. I want to build a complete 7 zone 2-way IR system using the dual Xantech blink IR Emitters and the Hidden Link 291-10. I have built the simple conversion circuits detailed on the nirvis web site but have had no luck getting any results (using the active X controlls from VB) Any help would be much appreciated.
