At least the stores I've tried don't ship any older versions; and it seems like a waste of money if it means that CDJ will also likely start using a newer format eventually.

It seems that CDJ is likely using whatever data access primitives are built into VB or VC++. You can probably get Access 2000 and create an updated DB from it, but it won't be one that CDJ can then use. (Read: sync problems). So yes, any kind of generic export format would be nice. It also could save us from rebuilding our libraries from scratch when (not *if*) VB/VC++ start to use newer engines.
