Pre-purchase questions

I need a little more info before purchasing. I also think having it posted here would help other prospective buyers. I'm looking for a (nearly) plug and play product. Does the Slick-e product come in a kit form or complete? I'm not to "slick" with a soldering iron, and frankly don't want to put a kit together. Does the Slick-e simply plug into the back of a Sony unit, or does it feed information via IR near the unit? What are the minimum system requirements? As a couple of posters have suggested, I would like to use a old 386/486 with minimum ram as a dedicated PC for this app instead of hooking up to my desktop machine. Does the free-ware demo have a sample disk library built in since I don't have a Slick-e yet? (So I can see how it would work when I do have the hardware/Slick-e and hooked up.) I know that the software gets album info from the internet, but (with the idea before mentioned regarding a aged PC, w/ no internet connection) can the info be fetched from net and then not go there anymore in future? Also, one last question, I just getting ready to purchase my first Sony CD jukebox, and will only purchase one, not pair... Any recommendations as to which model? Don't want to spend a grand but somewhere between $150 and $350 was what I had in mind. (Suggestion on which NOT to buy would be helpful also.)

BTW: This newsgroup was what moved me from, "another geek with a internet product that might not work", to "this looks real and reputable and I am very interested." I look forward to trying out the demo, and hopefully finding it something I can use.

Thanks,
Les
