I have a cx250, along with an older cx153. The cx153 allows you to display
the memo text when playing. The new, "improved", cx250 allows you to switch
between track #/time and "CD-text" - only!

^&%*%$^%&& Sony!

Of the 175 discs I have in the CX250, there is NOT A SINGLE DISC which has any
CD-Text. Not only that, but the cx153 allowed you to move discs from slot to
slot without reentering the memo (it recognized the disc by id). The 250's
memos are tied to a slot, rather than a disc id.

All in all, I'd say the 200 series is a significant step backwards from the
100 series in terms of usable features (as a stand-alone, non-Slink box)

I really doubt that there is any way (via slink) to make the display show
your memo text during playback. This is especially frustrating during shuffle
play, as you can no longer glance at the display to find out who is currently
playing. Dumb, dumb, dumb... Sigh.

BTW, has anybody figured out how to set the memo text for either the cx153 or
cx250? The codes in the *.cde files are for the cx270, and I find that they
don't work on my boxes. Frustrating...
