Pocket PC and Windows CE

Has anyone tried to integrate a Pocket PC with slinke serverver? I was thinking of buying the Compaq Ipaq which has wireless LAN capabilities (within the home). I presume one can use VBasic or C to create a touchpad control application and maybe even two-way access to the database. [Can you DCOM Windows CE?]
I suppose another way is to have an Irda receiver?
