In Response To: Maximum audio cable length? (Pim Seuren)

According to the manual the AII-link cord should be less than 2 metres long and with no resistance. The latter of course is impossible because every cable has some resistance. I never tried it with a longer cord so I can't help you there.

If you mean the cable between the PC and the Slink box: at the moment I have a cable of 5 m from my PC to a switch box, and from the switch box to the S-link 2 m, a total of 7 m and I expect a lot of resistance in the extra connectors and the switch box itself.

Depending on the quality of the audio cable and the stability of the input of your amplifier an audio cable may have a length of about 10 metres. The capacitance of the cable (in pF/m), the lower the better, and the shielding are the most important issues to consider if you buy a new cable.

Hope this helps (a bit).
