Homeseer will startup slinke-serve. You can associate IR codes with events through homeseer. Then, when slinke-serve sees the IR code, it tells homeseer about it. Homeseer will then execute an event (anything!).
The easiest way I found to go about this, is to have my remote learn some of the IR codes that come with Slinke, but that I don't use. Then add events to homeseer based on those.
It works great!
